The concept of the seven children meeting secretly is said to be inspired from the children of an employee of Brockhampton Press, who used to hold their meetings in a shed in a secret manner......!!

It is also held that Enid Blyton's Secret Seven could have been inspired from the writings of Charles Hamilton and also Secret Seven society figures in the series of 11 stories appearing in The Magnet Magazine in 1934.
